Bhargav Tarpara
Hi! I’m Bhargav Tarpara, Data Engineer at Cadence OneFive.
Bhargav is pronounced “bHar-gov.” the “bHa” is pronounced like the first part of syllable of “Bharin” or “Bharat”.
Who am I?
Section titled “Who am I?”“Who am I” for me is a very philosophical and existential question. I don’t think I have a definitive answer to it. But I can tell you about my background:
I am an artist, engineer, and entrepreneur. I live in northern NJ outside of NYC. Hobbies? I have lost of hobbies: reading, writing, creating things, music, learning, games, a good story/films/anime. I haven’t updated my blog in a minute.
At C15 I am a data engineer contractor but I can help with almost all parts of the stack. I am flexible as in my career I have done almost all parts of the stack (mostly devops and backend stuff) but I love the python language and databases. Perviously I have tried to start 5 companies as a co-founder (though-out my youth) and then I was also early employee / engineer at some VC backed ones post college. I mostly keep learning what to avoid rather than what to do (as if what to do was defined and obvious everyone would do it but there are no formulas). I studied hardware and software but I kind of free-flowed with my education and didn’t have a specific path. I’d like to go back and study physics more one day maybe. I really just want to learn how things work and then the most important question: WHY? I am always trying to improve as a person and with my craft. My general philosophy of things to work on is: technology is a tool. So how can we use it to help people and world? Healthcare, climate, education, etc. It’s simple. As a pervious business operator / owner I also have experience with how to go 0 -> 1 and attempt to win in a market. Strategies and marketing are my favorite parts of business (aside from product and development ofc).
- Make the company succeed (revenue, growth, whatever OKR etc.)
- Make the data pipeline so good that anyone on the team can pick it up and use it/edit/add to it, self managed and self healing.
- Learn about the actual industry and how it works.
Ways of working together
Section titled “Ways of working together”If I am in flow state which I strive to get into everyday I mostly ignore everyone but you can call me if you really need me. Otherwise slack is fine I check at least once an hour during the work day. I always strive to think of what is best for the entire team and company’s success. It is never me vs you but always what is the truth? What is reality and what is the best course of action to win?
I don’t ask of something I would not expect myself to do for you. So responding to slack messages or meeting when needed and try to enjoy the journey together.

Technical preferences
Section titled “Technical preferences”vim >> tho i’ve switched to cursor + vim and claude code but I still try not to rely on it much because I can feel myself getting dumber sometimes when I’ve over used them. So I like chatting and asking questions and if I use the generation then being opinionated.
