Head of Product
The Head of Product shapes our product vision, strategy, and execution, building and maintaining the structures for healthy and rapid scaling of the product organization. This role owns the product roadmap, drives cross-functional collaboration, and ensures our products deliver maximum value to users while advancing our mission.
Our product is highly technical and domain-specific. Therefore, the Head of Product must have deep building science expertise, ideally with a Mechanical Engineering or Building Science background.
Succession: The Head of Product serves as interim CEO in the event of a vacancy in the CEO role.
Responsibilities

- Identify and prioritize product opportunities through market research, competitive analysis, and user insights
- Make strategic product decisions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility
- Champion the product vision across the organization and to external stakeholders
Build and scale the product organization
Section titled “Build and scale the product organization”- Establish product management practices, processes, and standards appropriate for our stage and culture
- Build a strong, diverse product team through hiring, mentoring, and creating growth paths
- Foster collaboration between product, engineering, design, and domain experts
- Create frameworks for product decision-making that align with our horizontal culture
- Develop product metrics and analytics infrastructure to measure success
Drive execution and delivery
Section titled “Drive execution and delivery”- Own the product roadmap and ensure the team ships high-impact features on a startup cadence
- Work closely with engineering leadership to balance technical debt, platform investment, and feature delivery
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment on priorities and trade-offs
- Ensure the voice of the user is represented in all product decisions
- Build feedback loops with customers to validate product direction
Lead domain-driven product development
Section titled “Lead domain-driven product development”- Apply deep building science expertise to inform product decisions and validate technical approaches
- Bridge the gap between domain experts (mechanical engineers, building scientists) and engineering teams
- Ensure product solutions are grounded in real-world retrofit workflows and industry requirements
- Contribute domain expertise in product discovery, user research, and solution validation
