At Cadence OneFive, roles are templates built from competencies and responsibilities. This section describes the specific roles in our organization, how they combine competencies, and what success looks like at different levels of mastery.

Roles = Competencies + Responsibilities

  • Competencies are the foundational skills and capabilities that apply across roles
  • Responsibilities are the specific scope and accountability for each role
  • Mastery levels show how competencies deepen as you progress in your career

Everyone at Cadence OneFive should:

  • Develop competencies in multiple areas
  • Understand how their role ladders up to company goals
  • Lead from their seat, regardless of title or position

These role descriptions serve multiple purposes:

  • For 360s: Shared language for understanding your role, advancement paths, feedback, and growth conversations
  • For hiring panels: Reference for role expectations and interview criteria
  • For candidates: Transparency about what we’re looking for and how roles develop
